You can try watching an entire tutorial series, and once you have all the pieces of knowledge from it, you can figure out what the problem is. and write stuff down.

It could be a multitude of things. The sprite sheet should be in PNG format with a transparent background. Each frame of the animation should be evenly spaced and aligned.
